Our sketch design for the development of this piece of land along the Hoofdvaart in Haarlemmermeer comprises fourteen sustainable wooden houses. The architecture of the contemporary homes aligns with the traditional features of the Dutch farmhouses in the area and therefore blends into its surroundings in a natural way. The low density of the commissioned plan ensures a livable residential environment with plenty of greenery and sightlines to the surrounding polder landscape. Detached and semi-detached houses alternate, creating a diverse image, despite the smart repetition of materials and elements.
